Stories & Traditions
Every family has stories that explain where it came from, traditions that give ordinary moments meaning, and experiences that become part of its shared memory. Stories & Traditions is a place to explore, preserve, and share those pieces of family life—from the meals prepared for generations to the people, places, customs, and memories that make each family unique.
Staying close when life gets busy
Some family stories are told at a holiday table. Others surface while someone is making dinner, sorting through photographs, or explaining why an old recipe never quite tastes the same without a particular person in the kitchen.
They do not have to be grand stories to be worth keeping. The ordinary details often tell us the most about where we came from and how we became who we are.
At GenTree Global, we believe those details deserve room to be shared across generations. A recipe can carry a person’s voice. A photograph can bring back a place. A familiar tradition can help someone feel connected, even when the family no longer gathers in the same house.

Begin with what you already have
You do not need a perfect family history. Choose one thing that brings someone to mind: a handwritten recipe, a photograph, a phrase they used, or a tradition you still follow. Ask what the next generation might want to know about it.
Who taught you that recipe? What happened just outside the frame of that photograph? How did the tradition begin, and has it changed over time? The answers give a keepsake its meaning.
