Ingredients
4 eggs, separated
1/2 lb butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 pint sour cream or yogurt
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 teaspoons vanilla
1/4 cup poppy seeds or chocolate chips
Directions
Beat 4 egg whites until stiff and set aside
Cream together butter and sugar, then add egg yolks and beat well
Add sour cream or yogurt, baking soda, sifted flour, vanilla, and poppy seeds (or chocolate chips); beat well
Gently fold in the beaten egg whites
Pour into an ungreased tube pan
Bake until done (temperature and time not specified in original recipe - typically 350°F for 50-60 minutes)
- I use margarine and Dannon vanilla yogurt. Feel free to substitute chocolate bites for poppy seeds.
